Highlight | Alden x Roden Gray

Tuesday March 24, 2015

Alden has been hand-crafting footwear since 1884 - that's 131 years and going strong for the New England bootmaker. We kept this fact in mind and here we have, a restock of the branded collaboration with the venerable company. While Vancouver is still relatively young, our store in the city's oldest neighbourhood provided the inspiration for the shoes and boots made expressly for Roden Gray.

Deighton Chromexcel Work Boot
Named for "Gassy" Jack Deighton, Gastown's most famous barkeep and the namesake of the neighbourhood itself, our collaboration boot is built on Alden's Trubalance last out of beautiful and sturden Horween chromexcel leather. It features a Goodyear welted double oiled sole for superior performance on rainy spring days, plus speed hooks and a pull strap for easy wearing.

Byrnes Chromexcel Butcher
The Byrnes Block sits at the corner of Carrall St. and Water St. and was originally the site for the Alhambra hotel but now houses Six Acres, Pekinpah, and Roden Gray. As timeless as the building we call home, these bluchers are made from Horween Chromexcel leather so they'll take a beating and look all the better for it. These bad boys are built on the Barrie last.
