French fashion house Balenciaga was founded in 1937 by Spanish designer Cristóbal Balenciaga, who was already a celebrated couturier in his native country and had been designing for the Spanish aristocracy and elite society since 1918. Innovative in both his choice of silhouettes and fabrics, Balenciaga became a sought-after name in fashion worldwide, mentoring and influencing young designers like Hubert de Givenchy, until he closed the house in 1968. Upon its revival in 1986, the House of Balenciaga continued their tradition of high standards and quickly reclaimed their distinguished status in the industry, while also creating a new name for themselves with their highly covetable bags and sneakers.

The Spring/Summer 2014 season marks the first under new creative director Alexander Wang, and the resulting collection shows a high regard for the history of the label, with Wang’s distinct modern sensibility still coming through in the details. Clean lines and a minimalist colour palette of black, gray, and white make this a luxurious collection of essential items that can easily integrate into any wardrobe.

Balenciaga is currently available in-store only.
