The original Carhartt label began in Detroit in 1889, providing high quality canvas work apparel to the industrious blue-collar population of the city. They continue this tradition today, enjoying a longstanding reputation as the label of choice for craftspeople from every field.
Originally sold only in North America, Carhartt was brought to Europe in 1994 by Work In Progress and immediately became popular within the urban streetwear culture on the continent. Shortly after, Carhartt WIP designed a range exclusively for this market, with slimmer cuts and re-interpreted styles that spoke to this new environment while still staying true to their core values of exceptional quality, durability, and comfort.
