Inspired by American sportswear, military uniforms, and outdoor gear, New York-based Engineered Garments is one label that certainly lives up to its name. Each piece created by designer Daiki Suzuki is not so much designed as it is meticulously planned with careful attention paid to each component and detail. Such a thoughtful design process results in a line of smart, comfortable clothing with distinct traits and attributes, destined to become your favourite go-to pieces.
The Spring/Summer 2016 collection from Engineered Garments takes a nostalgic turn into the 1980’s American Sportswear scene. Serious suiting blends with work and resort wear designs to create a relaxed version of classic Americana, all with a wholesome navy, blue, and white colour palette. A camouflage-like dolphin print is just one of the stand-outs this season, and a play with proportions results in longer outerwear and shorter shorts.
