Since its inception in the late 1980’s, Paris-based brand A.P.C. (Atelier de Production et de Creation) has garnered a devoted following of denim enthusiasts with their high quality, minimalist selvedge denim. Yet they have become known for being much more than just a covetable denim brand. Of their many collaborations over the years, the pairing of A.P.C. and classic workwear label Carhartt has proven to be one of the most sought after since it’s inception in 2010. Producing a capsule collection every fall/winter, this year marks the final season for this successful partnership, and they’re going out on a high note. There’s plenty of wit (a watch with mixed up numbers references the Jimi Hendrix song “If Six was Nine”) and sentiment (look for prints of the blueprint for A.P.C. designer Jean Touitou’s boat where he and Carhartt designer Arnaud Faeh often had brainstorming sessions) seen throughout, but above all is the classic Carhartt aesthetic rendered in luxurious A.P.C. fabrics.
