Italian luxury label Marni began in 1994 with an eclectic and individual aesthetic that championed Italian-made goods fabricated with the highest level of quality. Everything is designed and made in their Milan headquarters, allowing for greater quality control and flexibility for designer Consuelo Castiglioni, whose experimental approach to materials and forms has resulted in a reputation for producing garments that know no boundaries. Special collaborations with both established and up-and-coming artists are commonplace in each season’s collection, re-invigorating the connection between fashion and art while encouraging self expression through personal style. Elegant, yet radical at the same time, the Marni ethos embraces idiosyncrasy and irreverence, mixing prints and shapes in order to create an endless range of possibilities for the sophisticated and curious individual.

With soft, drapey silhouettes, the Fall/Winter 2016 collection from Marni offers a sense of movement and ease, with clothes that flow loosely around the body. Wrap-around coats, buttonless shirts, and raw cuts create an effortless balance of fragility and strength, a sentiment that is echoed in the firm, yet light, fabrics and textiles used throughout. A colour palette of blues, greys, military greens, burgundy, and ochre is accented with flower prints and cloud motifs, resulting in a mood that is personal, intimate, and comfortable.
