Originally founded in Tokyo, Japan as TS in 1999 by Takuji Suzuki, the brand became ts(s) alongside a revitalized approach to product development in 2009. Suzuki chooses to emphasize the materials used in production and the technical details of his creations, often incorporating novel and exclusive fabrics into each season’s offerings. It’s only fitting, then, that the vision of the brand these days is built around “the creation that people might have seen before, but never existed”. Prior to creating the brand, Suzuki graduated from Kuwasawa Design Institute with a specialization in dress making. His brother, Daiki, also enjoys a career in the industry as founder and creative director of Engineered Garments.
For Spring/Summer 2017, ts(s) presents a collection that remains true to the brand’s core values. Pieces include asymmetrical sweat shorts, a semi reflective trench coat, and luxurious mix blend cardigans. The collection utilizes Takuji’s abilities to the fullest, with each piece engendering an air of casual sophistication and class. Staff favourites from the collection are the coach’s jacket, the 5 oz band collar shirt, and the lined easy cardigan.
