While most designers see their clothing as a reflection of the current sociopolitical climate, Dries van Noten chose to make his spring/summer collection a response instead. Shown in offices above a still functioning parking garage in Paris, the setting seemed to be a lighthearted jab at office life with models wearing deconstructed pieces of traditional suiting remade in lighter weight fabrics. Subtle militaristic elements were also present, offset by intricate graphics and embroidery on a variety of pieces.

Dries van Noten

Hailing from Antwerp, Belgium, Dries van Noten began his fashion career as part of the storied "Antwerp Six", a collective made up of six designers who graduated from the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts between 1980 and 1981 and quickly put the city on the map for avant-garde fashion design. Known for his use of compelling prints, van Noten has managed over the years to retain his prominence in the industry with his intellectual designs and practical outlook, giving his clothes a timeless quality that many designers strive for, but can't always achieve.
